Constellations

There are so many things to love about this play. It explores the curious concept of infinite parallel existences containing infinitely different futures, delving into what might happen to one couple who meet at a party. This is quantum physics, so the possibilities for both happiness and heartbreak are endless. When physicist Marianne collides with the beekeeper Roland at a party, do they hit it off, go for a drink together and end up at home together... or not? Maybe Marianne is in love with someone else, or perhaps Roland is. Will he break her heart, or will she break his? In this play even the smallest, most unimportant action has big effects. The result is a spell-binding tale of love, science, quantum theory, and infinite possibility.

This gorgeous Royal Court Theatre Production is directed by Michael Longhurst and stars a series of four two-person casts, each taking to the stage for a limited run. The first cast, Sheila Atim and Ivanno Jeremiah, are on stage from 18th June to 1st August, followed by Peter Capaldi and Zoë Wanamaker from 23rd June to 24th July. The brilliant Omari Douglas and Russell Tovey are starring from 30th July to 11th September, and Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O'Dowd finish off with a run between 6th August and 12th September. It's unforgettably good!
